Water Treatment Technologies
The water treatment sector in Sudan faces many problems specially during the last decades. The deterioration in this sector becomes serious during the ongoing war. Many water treatment facilities at different towns and cities were either stopped working completely or not working efficiently which in turn affected the quality of the produced water. This initiates the need for continuous training programs for operators, technicians and engineers working in water treatment sector.
During this training period we will discuss the following topics:- Introduction to water treatment philosophy, types of water treatment, turbidity removal, chemicals used in water treatment, drinking water quality, water analysis and others.
In the present, water is still an essential natural resource. Social problems relating to water, such as the shortage of water resources and the occurrence of water pollution, have long been at issue and they are still remaining as important problems to be solved. Those problems have been occurred as the results of the increase in population, the concentration of population in big cities, the development of industries and so on. This fact is advising us to harmonize our life-styles with the natural environment and to realize the sustainable development. To solve above problems and to harmonize the human society with the natural environment. The aim of this training course is to lay the basics of scientific understanding of the nature of water and the development of water treatment technologies.
